NSA Richmond/ SoftballNation Winter Meeting
Sunday, February 4th: 3:00 pm
Holiday Inn - Airport
Richmond, Virginia

Details: This is our annual meeting on league and tournament play in and around Richmond, Virginia.  We will preview the upcoming season and hand out tournament information and discuss other details related to adult slow pitch softball for NSA fans in Central Virginia.  We usually have directors and officials from other parts of the state and region in attendance.

Here's how the rest of the tournament finished.  It was a strong field with some good teams.  It looked like a good preview to the Men's D Eastern State Championship.

League Information:
Youth Competitive Fast Pitch League: 14u 16u
If you would like to have an NSA sanctioned league, let us know.  If you are in an established league and would like for that league to be sanctioned by NSA, you should let us know and notify the Recreation and Parks department where you play.  NSA is continually looking for available fields for league play, but the desire must come from the teams.  Otherwise, many Parks and Rec. Departments just stay with the status quo.  You can change this by taking action.

NSA Roster Rules (Rules are slightly different state to state)

1.A player cannot play on teams in different classes.

2.A player can play on two teams in the same class until one of those teams gets moved to a higher class or one of those teams becomes frozen. The player will go to the team that was moved to a higher class or the team that was frozen and will be automatically removed from the other teams roster.

3.If players are on two teams in one class and one of those teams drops in class, the team remaining at the higher class will retain the players and the team moving down will lose the players.

4.A player can drop class once released from a team of a higher class as long as the higher team was not frozen.

5.Once a player is frozen to a team at a particular class, he/she cannot be added to a roster of another team at a lower class. No Exceptions. Even if the player is dropped from the frozen team, he/she can only be added to a team at the frozen team's class or higher.

6.In the year 2000, we will classify each player by the class of the team they last played with. If that team is moved up to a higher class, all players on that frozen roster will be rated as the higher class.

7.Two roster adds are available (only if you have 18 players or less) once your team is frozen.

8.A team can have a maximum of 20 players on a roster.

9.If you have 18 or less players on your roster, you will get two adds when becoming frozen.

10.If you have 19 players when your team is frozen, you get one add.

11.If you have 20 players when your team is frozen, you get no adds.

12.Once frozen, you cannot drop players in order to gain more adds. For example, if a team has 13 players on their roster when they become frozen that team gets only 2 adds. If you have 19 players when your team becomes frozen, if you drop a player after you have been frozen, you still get one move.

13.All rosters are frozen on August 1.

14.Rules specific to Northern California will be implemented manually, Contact norcalnsa@aol.com for resolution to any problems.
