Beast of The East Update:
We're still taking teams with a few spots left.  The overall numbers are tracking higher than last year's totals and the field of teams is looking very strong.  In terms of quality of teams, this will rival some of the best tournaments we've had.  More news on the Beast Page.

Hooters Signs on with The Beast of The East and More:
SoftballNation in Richmond is pleased to announce a partnership with Hooters for 2008.  Hooters will be a sponsor of the Home Run Derby at The Beast of The East.  Each contestant will receive a Hooters Coupon and the top finishers will get even more from Hooters to go along with their other prizes.  In addition, throughout the season in Richmond,  The Hooters MVP Awards will be given at each Men's tournament.  The MVP for the Winners and Runners Up will receive a Hooters T-Shirt and  a $10 Gift Certificate to any of the Richmond area Hooters.     Oh yeah, and The Hooters Girls will be at the Home Run Derby Memorial Day Weekend.

Elite Sports of Virginia to Sponsor NIT Series:
SoftballNation has reached an agreement with Elite Sports of Virginia on a sponsorship of three of our N.I.T. tournaments.  Elite Prizes will be awarded at each event and they'll be out in full force with some of their product at each of the venues.   The Dudley in Virginia Beach will be one of the N.I.T. locations along with the Beast of The East in Petersburg/Richmond.  There will be another NIT stop in Harrsionburg, VA with the date to be named later.

The Beast of The East Home Run Derby to be Televised:
Some exciting news for you home run hitters.  The Beast of The East Home Run Derby will be video-taped and re-broadcast on a tape delayed basis on WTVR-TV in Richmond, VA.  The air date will be announced later.  It will be a date in June.  This should bring some excitement (not to mention pressure) to the event.  It's also a chance for you to get your mug on the tube, even if you're just out there watching.  You'll also see some highlights from the tournament itself show up in that broadcast.  More to come.

The SoftballNation Black America National Championship will be held in Greensboro, North Carolina in 2008.  
We're expecting more than 50 teams so be sure your team gets qualified for this event.  It's going to be a great one.
