SoftballNation
Registration:
All
teams participating in a SoftballNation Sanctioned event must be registered for
the 2008 season. You can register your team through your local director or
you can do it directly online at www.sportsnation.org
. The Team Registration fee for 2008 is $25 for the entire calendar
year. All teams must have
proof of team insurance and completed rosters with
photocopied birth certificates available to EACH tournament director.
Age
Cutoff Date:
Age Cut-off date is Dec. 31 (Whatever age the player is on
Qualifying
for the Fast Pitch Nationals:
Teams may qualify for the Fast Pitch Nationals by one of the following ways:
** Participate in Two (2) SoftballNation Sanctioned tournaments prior to
the Fast Pitch Nationals.
** Win a SoftballNation Sanctioned Tournament with 8 or more teams in your
respective age group.
** Be the Highest Finishing Team from your respective state in a SoftballNation
Designated N.I.T. Event
** Participate in the SoftballNation Virginia State Championship Tournament
(2007 Queen of The Hill)
N.I.T. (National Invitational Tournament) Events:
An NIT is a tournament that has proven to be a more popular event with better
competition and traditionally draws teams from a wider region. The
significance of an NIT is that the highest finishing team from your state in
your age group receives an automatic berth to the Fast Pitch Nationals.
Depending on the event, there may also be more prizes and possible travel
expenses for the Fast Pitch Nationals.
ALL teams are eligible to
play in the Virginia State Championship.
Tournament Fees: All
fees must be paid in advance.
Attention: Teams playing in Richmond tournaments.
Richmond Area Hotels: To
make sure your team is staying near the fields where you will be playing, we
encourage you to
use the SoftballNation Richmond Sports Housing Bureau: Outer Zone Sports: www.outerzonesports.com
. You can reach them at

will place your team in a hotel near your fields.
16u 18u Teams:
Varsity Spring Series: We've established a few dates for one day
tournaments in Richmond for 16u and 18u teams.
This is to accommodate any teams that may have varsity practice or game
obligations on Saturdays but could play on Sundays.
The tournaments will be three game guarantees and the size of the events will be
limited to ensure completion in one day.
